Welcome to the Southeastern Minnesota chapter of Project Linus!
We are a newly-formed chapter of Project Linus, a national nonprofit organization that provides handmade blankets to seriously ill and traumatized children. Based in Rochester, we're looking for volunteers, or "blanketeers," to make quilted, knitted, crocheted, or no-sew fleece blankets. Please consider joining us to help provide comfort and security to children in our area.
JOIN US FOR "MAKE A BLANKET DAY"!! The national Project Linus organization holds an annual Make a Blanket Day (MABD) on the third Saturday in February each year. Blanketeers from around the country get together in their local chapters to work on blankets and spread the Project Linus word.
We'll be meeting on Saturday, February 18th, from 1:00 to 5:00 at Oasis Church -- hope to see you there! (Note: The Rochester Post Bulletin article on Jan. 30th listed the incorrect time.)
FYI, our kickoff meeting on Saturday, January 14th, was a big success! (See our "Kickoff Photos" page.) We labeled and packaged 56 blankets to donate to area children and had fun meeting and working with fellow blanketeers. We'll hold meetings each month, so check our Upcoming Events for dates.
